This seminar will draw on the findings from a Joseph Rowntree Foundation research programme examining the interation between 'poverty' and 'place'. This seminar focusses on the perceptions and experiences of those living in economically vulnerable areas, to gain understanding of the recession through their eyes.

Round Table Discussion: Older People, Employment and Social Exclsuion in Wales
Monday 28th September, HRH Prince of Wales' residence Llwynywermod, Llandovery
A discussion held in conjuction with PRIME Cymru looked at the barriers facing over 50's in getting back into employment. The Deputy Minister for Health and Social Services, Gwenda Thomas AM kindly spoke on the Welsh Assembly Government perspective. Ruth Marks, Older People's Commissioner for Wales also gave a presentation on her aims and suggestions for tackling the issues in Wales today. Terry Mills gave the background to the issue. The discussion was chaired by Victoria Winckler, Director of the Bevan Foundation.
